FORMER HUSKER BASEBALL COACH NOW ASSISTANT AT OKLAHOMA

Mike AndersonFormer Nebraska baseball coach Mike Anderson is back in the college game, 2 years after being fired by the Huskers and coaching high school ball in the Denver area…landing a job at Oklahoma as an assistant.

Anderson had been the Huskers’ hitting coach for 7 seasons when he was named as head coach after Dave Horn left in 2002 following consecutive College World Series appearances to become head man at Arkansas.

Anderson was a two-time Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year and a two-time league champion with a 337-196-2 record during his nine-year tenure at NU…taking them to the CWS in 2005 for the third time in school history with a program best 57-15.

He was fired in 2011 by then athletic director Tom Osborne after the Huskers finishing 9-17 in conference play and missing the postseason for the third straight year.
