The Dawes County 4-H Public Speaking Event was held Monday and 8 contestants emerged to represent the county at the upcoming Regional Contest in two weeks on April 26. Competition was held in original speech, radio public service announcement, and presentation/demonstration.
Those advancing to the regional contest in speech are Junior Division champion Dylan Davidson, Intermediate Division champ Jake Lemmon, and Intermediate Division Blue Ribbon winners Tristan Hunter and Cole Madsen.
Jake Lemmon is also going to the regional contest in PSA as the Intermediate champion. Others advancing in PSA are Senior Champion Taylor Davidson, Intermediate Purple Ribbon winners Wyatt Davidson and Hanna Meier.
Senior Division regional winners in speech and radio PSA will advance to the State Public Speaking Contest. Those who qualify for the state contest in the Speech Division must be present at the State Contest to receive the $25 cash award and to be eligible for the scholarships. PSA contestants do not need to be present.
