Eagles Softball Adds CC Transfer Outfielder

Chadron State College’s softball team has signed Lindsey Karlin of Dodge City Community College to a National Letter of Intent coach Stack announced Monday.

Karlin, a left-handed outfielder, paced Dodge City in nearly every hitting category in 2015. She led the team in at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, walks, hitting percentage, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and total bases. Karlin batted .467 in 43 games and scored 46 runs and drove in 33 more.

“Lindsey brings added collegiate experience in the outfield and also another left-handed batter,” Stack said. “She’s had excellent junior college coaching and is also outstanding in the classroom. We look forward to the contributions Lindsey will make to our program for the next two years.”

Karlin, a native of Berthoud, Colorado, was named to the 2015 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region First Team, as well as All-Kansas Jayhawks Community College Conference First Team. She was selected as one of 16 junior college players to travel to Canada to play in the International Canadian Cup last month.

Karlin also excelled off the field, being named an NFCA Academic All-American, as well as an NJCAA Academic All-American.
