The Dawes County Farm Bureau holds its annual meeting next Monday, Oct 14, at 6:00 in the Dawes County Fairgrounds 4-H Building in Chadron.

President Thorpe Thompson says the evening will update members and guests on issues facing Nebraska farmers and ranchers while also offering them a free catered meal and a chance to win half a hog.

Those who’ve become Farm Bureau members in the past year will be entered into one drawing for half a hog while all members…including those new ones…will be in a drawing for another half.  Current members who sign up a new member and bring them to the dinner will be entered into the drawing a second time.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation is a statewide grassroots organization dedicated to supporting farm and ranch families while working for the benefit of all Nebraskans through a wide variety of educational, service, and advocacy efforts. It’s the largest farm organization in Nebraska with over 56,000 families as members.

Thompson says the $50 annual membership for the Dawes County Farm Bureau is the best money a farmer or rancher can ever spend and a great opportunity to help their fellow ag producers across the state.
