Daniel F. Kozal, 76


Daniel F. Kozal, 76, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.

He was born in Alliance on March 10, 1941 to Lawrence F. and Arline M. (Ford) Kozal.

On June 2, 1960 he was united in marriage to Dyna L. Taylor in Bridgeport, NE.

A lifelong resident of Alliance worked as a machinist at Burlington Northern Railroad hiring on in 1959.  He was a third generation railroader following in the footsteps of his grandfather and his father.  Dan was a machinist for 30 years before a disability forced his early retirement. His son, Scott, is a fourth generation railroader working in Arizona. Daniel enjoyed gardening and being a “snow-bird” to Arizona for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Dyna, his son, Scott (Karoline) Kozal of Fort Mohave, AZ and his son, Kent of Alliance, his 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his sister, Loretta Rockey of Harrisonville, MO and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
