CSC WOMEN’S GOLF PICKED 7TH IN RMAC COACHES POLL

Emma Harris - 13-1The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s golf coaches have picked Chadron State College to finish 7th this year.

There are 10 women’s teams in the league and coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams or players.

Colorado State University-Pueblo…the 3-time defending champion…returns all 5 members of last year’s team and received 11 points with 8 of the possible 10 first-place votes. Western New Mexico is picked 2nd with 17 and the other two first place votes.

Only 8 points separate the 3rd-5th picks with Colorado Mesa receiving 30, Regis 31, and Adams State 39. Black Hills is picked 6th, but just 3 points ahead of Chadron State. Colorado Christian is picked 8th, with Metro State and UC-Colorado Springs bringing up the rear.

Pueblo sophomore Leina Kim was last year’s Freshman and Golfer of the Year, so it’s no surprise she’s also the pick as Preseason Golfer of the Year.

Chadron State tees off a busy September this weekend as they open their season at the 2-day CSU-Pueblo tournament…one of 2 RMAC regular season fall tournaments.

The Eagles have 4 fall tournaments all together, and all are this month…as they travel to MSU-Billings the 12th and 13th, Spearfish for the second RMAC tournament the 16th and 17th, then finish up the fall at a tournament in Mitchell, SD, hosted by Dakota Wesleyan.

Head coach Terri Connealy lost heavily to graduation, transfer, and focusing on academics. She returns just 3 golfers from last season, all sophomores…Emma Harris, Elysha Stahla, Skylar Wetzel…while adding freshmen Danielle Brennan of Alliance and Mikayla Gallagher of Spearfish
