Two of the three outgoing Nebraska State College System student trustees have been accepted into graduate school in different parts of the country.

Chadron State’s Morgan Nelson will attend the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M while Joseph (Seph) Fauver of Peru State will be in a biomedical science PhD program at Colorado State University in Fort Collins

College System Chancellor Stan Carpenter is excited that Nelson and Fauver are both planning for futures in higher education, calling them strong representatives of the kind of students found at the 3 state colleges: committed to doing well in school and seeing their hard work pay off for them.

Nelson, a Norfolk native, is majoring in legal studies and says she’d been unsure about whether to go into law or public police before becoming CSC’s student trustee, but that her experience in the post settled the decision for her.

She says she came to realize that she wants to work in government at some level, calling government policy her passion and serving her community and making a difference among her top goals.

Nelson was president of the CSC Student Senate before being appointed by Governor Dave Heineman as the student trustee, and she helped plan and host the first Nebraska State College System Student Government Conference two years ago.
