Although crude oil prices in the U.S. petroleum market have dropped to some of the lowest levels seen during the past 52-weeks due to increased production, processed fuel prices in the commodities market and retail prices at the pump have not dropped as quickly, reports AAA. Processed fuel is currently trading at $1.76 a gallon, which is significantly higher than its 52-week low of $1.23 a gallon. The commodity price of gasoline does not include taxes, delivery costs and retail profit margins.
