The Box Butte County Commissioners during a special meeting Monday morning finalized the appointment of a new County Attorney..however it was not the original selection.  During the meeting Attorney Joe Stecher, of Harrison,  who had been the Commissioners choice following interviews with the 2 final candidates, declined the position.  The Commissioners then appointed the other finalist, current Cheyenne County Deputy Attorney, Charlotte Hood.  Ms Hood accepted the position and will look to begin her duties in Box Butte County on April 20.
