COLORADO STATE PATROL PROVIDES MARNETT ACCIDENT REPORT

Memorial Services are pending for former Alliance businessman Martin Marnett, who died in Denver, Colorado Sunday following a motorcycle accident.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Marnett was traveling south on Colorado Highway 92 near Gunnison on a 1987 BMW motorcycle when Marnett drove off the right side of the road. The motorcycle tipped onto its left side and slid for 46 feet in gravel before coming to rest in a ditch.   The accident occurred Saturday, July 12, at 2:30 pm.

The 64-year-old Marnett, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to a Denver hospital by helicopter where he died.  It is unknown at this time if Marnett died due to the injuries sustained in the crash or of a medical condition.

Marnett and his wife Marcella owned and operated the McDonald’s restaurants in Alliance and Chadron for several years. They relocated from Alliance to Basalt, CO about five years ago.
