Colorado Springs Man Arrested Following Walmart Disturbance

A 40 year old Colorado Springs, Colorado man has been arrested following a disturbance at the Chadron Walmart. According to a News Release from the Chadron Police Department, Monday June 8, officers of the Chadron Police Department were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at Walmart. Officer Derek Bauer arrived and contacted a female who had been allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend was observed leaving Walmart prior to officers arriving. The investigation revealed that the victim was allegedly taken from her home in Colorado Springs, assaulted there, as well as numerous times along the way to Chadron.

Troopers from the Nebraska State Patrol had contact with the boyfriend approximately 15 miles West of Chadron on Highway 20, where he was arrested without incident. The boyfriend was identified as 40 year old James Howard, of Colorado Springs Colorado. James Howard was booked into the Dawes County Jail for misdemeanor domestic assault, false imprisonment, reckless driving and felony terroristic threats. The Chadron Police Department was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol.
