The City of Alliance is offering a payment option for Sky View Golf Course annual memberships in an effort to encourage the use of our municipal golf course. City of Alliance utility customers can enroll in a payment program which will add monthly payments to the participant’s utility bill, which will ensure payment in full by the beginning of the 2013 golfing season. Individuals interested in participating in the program simply need to complete the enrollment form at the Utility Office located at 324 Laramie. The undecorated trees and wreaths for the 17th Annual Tree and Wreath Festival which will be held December 1-8 have arrived and are ready to be picked up. The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center has both trees and wreaths available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the Sallows Military Museum will have wreaths available daily from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information regarding the festival, please call 762-2384.
The Sallows Military Museum Allies will be holding their quarterly meeting on Wednesday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sallows Military Museum. Anyone wishing to join is welcome to attend.
The City of Alliance will continue collecting yard waste through Wednesday, November 21. If your yard waste container is full prior to regular refuse collection days, you may take your yard waste to the landfill at no charge. Leaves should be placed in the yard waste containers and not raked into the street. Please contact the Streets and Sanitation Department at 762-1907 for more information.
Box Butte Avenue from 3rd to 10th Streets will be closed on Saturday, November 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during the Veterans Day Parade.
The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center would like to encourage anyone who participated in the “Adopt a Civil War Hero” project to please turn your research material in as soon as possible. If you haven’t adopted a soldier and would like to, there are still 33 soldiers to be adopted, researched and honored with their stories. Please contact the museum at 762-2384 for more information.
The City of Alliance would like to invite you to serve your community by serving on one of our many boards. There are currently vacancies on the Board of Adjustment, A-1 and A-2 Downtown Improvement Boards, Park and Tree Board, and Economic Development Plan Citizen Advisory Board. Anyone interested in serving on these boards should contact the City Clerk’s office. Information on all of the City Boards is also available on our web site atwww.cityofalliance.net.
City of Alliance Utility customers are now able to register to receive their bills online instead of receiving a paper copy if they wish. As a convenience, utility customers may also make payments online at www.cityofalliance.net by clicking the “On-Line Bills” button or by calling Payment Service Network at 1-877-885-7968 using their credit or debit cards for a small fee. Customers wishing to utilize the online statement viewing service only may do so at no charge. Please call the Utility Office at 762-5075 for more information.
The use of motorized golf carts will not be allowed at Sky View Golf Course for the remainder of the winter effective Monday, November 12. Push carts are available for use at the clubhouse.
