Decorations placed on graves at the Alliance City Cemetery should be picked up by Sunday, June 4. Items not removed after the holiday will be picked up on Monday, June 5 and disposed of.

The Alliance Public Library Concert Series will feature Knox Road Thursday, June 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the library rose garden. Bring your lawn chairs and enter the garden on the east side of the library. Refreshments will be provided.
The Alliance Street Mill and Overlay project will begin Monday, June 5. A list of the affected streets is available on the home page of the City web site. Please remove all items from the street to allow crews clear access. Simon Contractors will be installing “No Parking” signs in each of the locations two days prior to construction. The streets will be closed during the milling process and then again during the overlay process. Streets will reopen for use between the milling process and the overlay process. The anticipated completion date is July 2017.
Sky View Golf Course will host the Player’s 4-Man Scramble Saturday, June 3. The course will be closed for non-tournament play from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
A fireworks retail permit must be obtained prior to Friday, June 16 for anyone wishing to sell fireworks in the City of Alliance. Please contact Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker at 762-2151 for an application. There will be no fee for the permit. When applying for the permit, an approved copy of the State Fireworks License will be required.
The Route 385 Cruisers annual Car Show and Rod Run event will be held in Central Park Saturday, June, 3 and Sunday, June 4. Yellowstone Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets and 9th Street between Yellowstone and Niobrara Avenues will be closed during the event.
The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center will be hosting a series of four lectures offering reflections on relationships between Plains Indians and white settlers featuring a variety of speakers. Mari Sandoz Center Executive Director Sarah Polak, will present “Mari Sandoz and Native American Rights” on Sunday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m. A tour of the American Indian artifacts collection at the museum will be available following each lecture.
