Sky View Golf Course will host the Panhandle Round Up Member/Guest tournament this weekend. On Friday, July 7, tee times will be necessary all day to accommodate practice rounds and a Par 3 tournament will be held at 4:00 p.m. for players in the tournament. The course will be open for non-tournament play from 8:00 a.m. to noonand at 5:00 p.m. Saturday July 8 and at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9. Please call the golf course at 762-1446 for more details.
A new billboard has been installed south of the Highway 2 and 385 junction to welcome visitors to our community! The sign advises travelers that Alliance has “All Services” available to them.
Night swim will begin at Big Blue Bay Wednesday, July 12 and will be held Wednesdays through Sundays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The Laing Lake rehabilitation project is now complete. Rocks have been installed to act as a breakwater system to maintain the integrity of the shoreline by reducing erosion. Please do not move the rocks or throw them in the water. If you see anyone tampering with the shoreline rocks, please call the Cultural and Leisure Services department at 762-2384 or the Alliance Police Department at 762-4955.
The City of Alliance and the Village of Hemingford have teamed up to bring a different type of technology to our area for the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse! An app called “Piggyback” is available for Android and Apple users to have eclipse information on their mobile devices. The app pulls data directly from the eclipse website www.CarhengeSolarEclipse2017.
