Sky View Golf Course will be hosting the Panhandle Round Up Member/Guest tournament this weekend.  Tee times will be necessary all day today to accommodate practice rounds.  A Par 3 tournament will be held this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for players in the tournament.  The course will be open for after tournament play at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11 and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.  Please call the golf course at 762-1446 for more details.

 

Mark your calendars for the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department Miss Flame Pageant which will be held on Thursday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.  Anyone wishing to participate may pick up an application and a list of rules at the fire station.

 

Beginning Tuesday, July 14, several streets will be closed or restricted to one-way traffic due to the Heritage Days celebration.  Please exercise caution while driving near those areas.

 

The first performance of Bands on the Bricks will be held Friday night from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the 200 block of Box Butte Avenue.  Please bring your lawn chair to enjoy this free family fun night!

 

Big Blue Bay will be open for night swim Sunday, July 12 through Tuesday, July 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

 

Drivers are needed to expand Public Transit to include Friday service in Alliance as well as add service to Hemingford.  Applications are currently being taken by the City of Alliance for Public Transport Driver/Dispatch which includes on-call and substitute drivers as well as a driver for Hemingford residents.  Job descriptions and applications are available at www.cityofalliance.net.

 

The City of Alliance is also currently taking applications for Public Safety Dispatcher and seasonal positions.

 

The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center will be closing at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 through Friday, July 17.  The museum will be closed all day Saturday, July 18 and will be open Sunday, July 19 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
