CHILDREN’S CHOIR OPENS “SNL” IN TRIBUTE TO CONNECTICUT SHOOTING

NEW YORK (AP) – Laughs didn’t start “Saturday Night Live” this weekend. Instead of the usual comedy sketch, the show opened with a children’s choir sing “Silent Night.” Then after members of the New York City’s Children’s Chorus closed the song with the refrain: “Sleep in heavenly peace,” they shouted out the show’s intro: “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” It was in memory of the victims of the Connecticut school massacre Friday.
