CHADRON WATER SYSTEM BACK TO NORMAL

Chadron City HallThe city of Chadron has lifted its voluntary request for residents to limit their water use. Sewer and Water Superintendent Tom Menke says a power board in the water system that was damaged by lightning Friday night has been replaced and normal operations have resumed.

As a result of the damaged power board, the water system had to be operated manually instead of automatically…slowing the ability to make adjustments. Menke says a few minor problems still need to be fixed, but they don’t affect regular operations.

Menke says he appreciates the hard work of city crews to find and repair the problems as well as the patience and understanding shown by Chadron residents in limiting their water use over the weekend despite the hot temperatures.
