Chadron State Wrestling Signs Two More To Stellar Recruiting Class

The Chadron State wrestling program is seeing its biggest recruiting class in years, and its growth continued to blast off during the July 4 weekend.

Head Coach Brett Hunter added another pair to the program in transfer Hank Friedrichs from South Dakota State and Treyton Nilsson, a four-time high school state champion from Idaho.  The duo signed Letters of Intent and become the 32nd and 33rd recruits in the 2015-2016 class according to Hunter.

“Hank is a huge addition to the program.  He is a Division I wrestler that wanted to pursue an opportunity at the Division II level.  Being a multiple state champion in Minnesota says a lot about what kind of kid we are getting.  We are extremely excited to start working with him,” says Hunter.

Friedrichs is projected to wrestle at 149 pounds and his accomplishments include winning 216 matches in high school and two state titles.

Nilsson is projected to grapple at 125 pounds for CSC.  During his high school career he ranked #19 his senior season nationally according to Coach Hunter, and earned a sixth-place finish at the Reno World’s Tournament in 2011.

“Treyton has tremendous upside, he has the work ethic and desire to do great things here.  We are very lucky to get a kid of his caliber,” says Hunter.

So far, the CSC class sits at 33 and is the “best year of recruiting I have ever been involved with” according to Hunter.
