
Chadron’s first game at Girls State Basketball was a successful one, as they won 54-43 against Lincoln Christian, on Thursday night at the Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln.
The Lady Cardinals took control early leading 15-9 after the 1st quarter, in which Ashlyn Eitemiller recorded 10 points – including two big three pointers. By halftime Chadron’s led grew to 12 points, 35-23. The Lady Crusaders tried to find their way back into this game as they outscored the birds by 5 points in the third quarter. However, Chadron finished strong scoring 10 in the 4th to complete the 54-43 victory.
Peyton Hinn led the way for Chadron with a game high of 14 points, Bailea Kerr scored 13, and Eitemiller finished with 10 points.
With the win, Chadron will advance to face Pierce on Friday at the Bob Devaney Center, with the opening tip at 2:45.
