A month after coming in second in “Survivor: Philippines” Whelchel says she’s landed a role in Tyler Perry’s next movie, “A Madea Christmas.” Whelchel tells People.com that she got the part three hours after auditioning. It was her first audition in 33 years. Whelchel put her career on hold for the most part to raise her three children.
