RASCAL FLATTS’ “ALL ACCESS” DVD SET FOR RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Rascal Flatts fans who missed the one-night-only movie theater debut of “All Access & Uncovered” earlier this year will get another chance to see the film.

The DVD version is set for release November 19. It includes exclusive performance footage of the group’s biggest hits along with music from their current “Changed” album, including their No. 1 hit “Banjo” and their latest single “Come Wake Me Up.”

The band members also share the stories behind several of the album’s songs.

BILLY RAY CYRUS ON HIS SONG “THAT’S WHAT DADDYS DO”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Billy Ray Cyrus released his new album “Change My Mind” this week. Cyrus says the album draws on all of his musical influences and it also draws on many difficult personal experiences.

The song ‘That’s What Daddys Do’ is partly a tribute to Cyrus’s father who died several years ago from an aggressive lung cancer after in a steel mill. It also reflects Cyrus’s own experience as a father.

TOBY KEITH WOULD RATHER HAVE ROOT CANAL

(AP) — Toby Keith is a notorious no-show at the CMA Awards. So don’t expect to see him next week even though he’s nominated for Music Video of the Year for his song “Red Solo Cup.” Keith told Country Weekly that he’s “gotta go get a root canal that day, or something fun.”

”Red Solo Cup” is Keith’s first crossover success. He says he thinks pop radio stations have considered him too country in the past and tells Country Weekly that he “always took pride in that.”

SAM PALLADIO: FROM LONDON TO “NASHVILLE”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Sam Palladio says he’s having a “bit of a pinch yourself moment.” The British actor relocated from London to Music City for his role on the new TV show “Nashville.”

Palladio plays aspiring singer Gunnar Scott — a part he says he’s been preparing for since childhood. He grew up in a musical household listening to “lots of 70s folk” with a “country nature to it.” He says and went on to write and record music with his own band. Palladio is enjoying living on location in Music City. He says his favorite thing about Nashville so far is the people.

ALDEAN HEADS AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS LINEUP

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jason Aldean leads the list of top country music stars set to perform on the American Country Awards.

Country’s leading man of the moment will be joined by lead nominee and good friend Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley and Little Big Town.

Few are hotter than Aldean at the moment. The Georgia native scored the year’s second biggest debut last week, selling 409,000 copies of his fifth album “Night Train,” and recently announced a series of stadium appearances on his 2013 tour.

Producers also announced Scotty McCreery, LeAnn Rimes, Chris Young, Lee Brice, Jana Kramer and Lauren Alaina will make appearances. Fans can vote for the favorite nominees at the show’s website.

Kristin Chenoweth and Trace Adkins return as hosts for the show, aired live Dec. 10 on Fox from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

“THE VOICE”
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Blake Shelton gives a country girl the boot. On “The Voice” last night, Shelton had to choose between two teenagers. He decided to hang on to Michaela Paige, while letting Kelly Crapa (KRAY’-pah) go. But Kelly was thankful for getting this far. The teams are now set on The Voice. Next week, the knockout rounds begin.

“THE X FACTOR”
LOS ANGELES (AP) – The country trio Sister C gets good news from Simon Cowell. He keeps the Texas sisters on “The X Factor.” He also gives a nod to the Lylas, one of the instant groups formed at boot camp. The teams on The X Factor now set. Other country singers to make it through include Willie Jones, the deep-voiced black teenager, and Tate Stevens. We’ll start hearing them live on November first.

MIRANDA LAMBERT, DIERKS BENTLEY TOURING TOGETHER NEXT YEAR
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley are going on tour together next year. They’re kicking off the co-headlining “Locked and Reloaded” tour on January 17th. Lambert says this will be a tour of “epic badassery.” Bentley says “it’s going to be a killer year.” The two toured together in 2006 on Bentley’s “Locked and Loaded” tour with Lambert as an opener.

TIM MCGRAW, FAITH HILL TO PERFORM ON CMA AWARDS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be performing on the CMA Awards next week. Hill will sing her new single, “American Heart,” and McGraw will debut new music from his upcoming album. They’ll return to the stage together with Lady Antebellum and Blake Shelton for a special tribute to Willie Nelson. The CMAs air live from Nashville November 1st on ABC.

JOHN RICH TO HOST GOP RALLY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – John Rich is hosting a rally for Governor Mitt Romney on Thursday in Ohio. It’s called “Musicians for Mitt.” Randy Owen of Alabama is the first of several artists to be announced for the event. Kid Rock and Rodney Atkins are performing at another GOP event in Colorado this week.

LITTLE BIG TOWN PERFORMING ON ‘LIVE WITH KELLY AND MICHAEL’ TODAY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Look for Little Big Town on TV this morning. They’ll be performing on “Live With Kelly and Michael.”

PAISLEY PLAYS TO MORE THAN 1 MILLION FANS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – It’s safe to say Brad Paisley met a lot of his fans on tour this year. He played to over one million fans in the U.S. on his “Virtual Reality World Tour.” The domestic run just wrapped up, but he still has six international shows scheduled for November. Paisley is also hosting and performing on the CMA Awards November 1st.

PAISLEY PRANKS THE BAND PERRY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The first clue that Brad Paisley is pranking you is when the audience starts laughing. That’s what happened to The Band Perry during the last weekend of Paisley’s “Virtual Reality” tour. Paisley sent his crew on stage dressed in short shorts as “Lt. Dangle” from Comedy Central’s “Reno 911.” Kimberly Perry says Paisley has been “such a fun-loving host” on the road, but she hopes he can buy his crew members some longer shorts on the next tour.

BAND PERRY TO DEBUT NEW SINGLE ON CMA AWARDS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Band Perry plans to debut their new single, “Better Dig Two,” on the CMA Awards November 1st. The new song ships to country radio a few days later on November 5th.

HOW TAYLOR SWIFT DEALS WITH FAME
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Sometimes the pressure of fame gets to Taylor Swift. She says she deals with it in all kinds of ways: venting to her friends, playing piano until 4 a.m., or calling her mom and crying. Swift feels for other celebrities in the news. She says when she sees someone going through a scandal now, she doesn’t sit there and see it as entertainment anymore. Swift’s new album “Red” is out now.

‘NASHVILLE’ TUNES AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Fans of the TV show “Nashville” will soon be hearing a familiar tune on country radio. Big Machine Records has released the first official single from the show, sung by Hayden Panettiere. The song is called “Telescope.” The label will release new music each week. “Nashville” airs Wednesdays on ABC.

GARTH BROOKS TEARS UP AT HALL OF FAME INDUCTION
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – It’s an elite group and Garth Brooks if finally part of it. Brooks joined the Country Music Hall of Fame along with Connie Smith and Hargus “Pig” Robbins. Brooks called it “the greatest day of his musical career.” He also acknowledged his three daughters sitting in the audience. Brooks retired from music in 2001 to spend more time with them. Smith said the honor hits her in waves — part of the time she doesn’t believe it yet, and part of the time it makes her “want to pucker up and cry.” George Strait and James Taylor were among the performers at the induction ceremony on Sunday.

‘THE VOICE’
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Chalk up one more steal for Blake Shelton. On last night’s edition of “The Voice,” Team Blake picked up 15-year-old MarissaAnn, who had been dropped by Christina Aguilera. Tonight’s show is the last of the battle rounds. Aguilera is only coach left with a steal, as the final live line-up is set.

JAMEY JOHNSON IS GOING ON TOUR
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Jamey Johnson is launching a fall tour, called “Living For A Song.” It’s named after his new tribute album to Hank Cochran, released on October 16th. The tour kicks off in Knoxville, Tennessee, November 8th. The dates run through December 31st in Montgomery, Alabama, with more to be announced soon.

SCOTTY MCCREERY ON QVC TODAY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Scotty McCreery is performing songs from his new Christmas album on QVC today. He will also offer viewers an opportunity to order his album as part of a two CD set, including his platinum-selling debut album “Clear As Day.” The Christmas record includes classics like, “Let It Snow” and “Jingle Bells,” along with two originals.

DAVID NAIL ON VOCAL REST
UNDATED (AP) – David Nail is on vocal rest. He had to cancel a show on doctor’s orders. Nail was scheduled to perform in Milwaukee but he was diagnosed with laryngitis. Nail called it a “scary situation” when the sound wouldn’t come out. He tweeted that his voice was in bad shape and he needed a miracle. Nail asked fans to say a prayer for his vocal chords. It’s the first show he has ever had to cancel. Nail said he was “heartbroken.”

BRAD PAISLEY SINGS ON COLBIE CAILLAT’S CHRISTMAS ALBUM
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Brad Paisley sings with Colbie Caillat (KOHL’-bee CAH’-lay) on her new Christmas album. They collaborated on the tune “Merry Christmas, Baby.” Caillat is performing the song on the upcoming CMA Country Christmas TV special, but without Paisley. Caillat also guests on Jerrod Niemann’s new album on a song called “I’m All About You.” Her 12-song “Christmas In The Sand” album is available now.

GARTH BROOKS: OFFICIAL COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME MEMBER
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Garth Brooks, Connie Smith and keyboard player Hargus “Pig” Robbins are the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. They were inducted in a star-studded ceremony in Nashville Sunday night. George Strait, Bob Seger and James Taylor performed in tribute to Brooks. Lee Ann Womack and Merle Haggard saluted Smith. And Ronnie Dunn along with Ronnie Milsap played for Robbins. The tears started flowing for Brooks as he talked to reporters on the red carpet with wife Trisha Yearwood. He got more emotional as the night went on, thanking friends, family and industry professionals who helped him along the way.

GARTH BROOKS LOOKS AHEAD
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Garth Brooks is kicking around ideas for a comeback. He says “we’re just going to start. It’s going to be fun.” Brooks retired to raise his kids, and now his youngest daughter, Allie, is a junior in high school. His wife, Trisha Yearwood, says Allie is ready for the couple to go on the road again because she is doing every after-school activity possible. Brooks said great songwriters “can birth a career, but the greatest ones can bring life back into one.” He said they will be “looking hard for songs just to see what the future might hold.” Brooks is 50 years old.

GEORGE STRAIT ON GARTH BROOKS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – George Strait says Garth Brooks “transcends country music.” But he didn’t think that right away. Strait remembers Brooks opening a show for him years ago, sitting on the stage hanging his feet over while singing to the crowd. Strait says he thought to himself, “I’m not sure this is going to work out for the boy.” Strait says it’s been amazing to watch how Brooks exploded into the biggest-selling artist of all time, and then laid it all down to raise his kids.

TAYLOR SWIFT RELEASES ‘RED’
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Taylor Swift says the word “conflicted” could describe a lot of the reasons why she wrote the songs on her new album, “Red.” She says they deal with a couple of “tumultuous relationships” where she didn’t know if she should stay or leave, trust her ex, or not believe a thing he said. Swift says she realized with her first single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” that once she put it out there, there was no going back. She wrote 10 tracks by herself and six with other top songwriters. “Red” is out today.

JASON ALDEAN TO PLAY THREE STADIUMS NEXT YEAR
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) – Jason Aldean is playing three stadiums on his “Night Train” tour next year: Boston’s Fenway Park, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and his dream location: Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia. Aldean is a Georgia native and lifelong Bulldogs fan. He says the college stadium was number-one on his list, and it’s probably the most excited he’s ever been about one of his shows. His “My Kinda Party” tour wraps up in Dallas on October 27th.

REBA MCENTIRE TO DEBUT NEW SONGS ON TV SHOW
UNDATED (AP) – Reba McEntire’s new TV show, “Malibu Country,” will feature some of her own songs. She tells “Entertainment Tonight” that she has written a lot of new tunes for the show, and there are two included in the first episode. Reba says she’s already talked to Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson about appearing. So it’s only a matter of writing them into the plot in an authentic way. She says “everything about this show’s got to be honest.” “Malibu Country” debuts November 2nd on ABC.

JERROD NIEMANN TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Jerrod Niemann is slowing things down with his new single, “Only God Could Love You More.” It’s the second release from his new album, “Free The Music.” Niemann co-wrote the ballad with buddies Lee Brice and Jon Stone. He says he wanted to keep the vocals simple, with no harmonies, because the song has a lot going on musically. It uses French horns and other orchestral instruments.

JERROD NIEMANN "GETS ON UP"
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Jerrod Niemann is cruising. Literally. He's currently performing on the open seas as part of the Blake Shelton and Friends Cruise through October 21. But life wasn't always so easy. Niemann scored a No. 1 hit with the song "Lover Lover" from his major label debut album in 2010, but he says the road to success wasn't easy.

JASON ALDEAN MAKES SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT
BOSTON (AP) - Jason Aldean will be the first country music artist ever to perform at Fenway park, the iconic home of the Boston Red Sox. Aldean made the announcement yesterday from Fenway and said the July 13, 2013, concert is "going to be a fun night." He'll be joined by Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett for the concert which kicks off his first stadium tour.

TAYLOR SWIFT EXACTS REVENGE WITH HIT SONGS
UNDATED (AP) - Taylor Swift says "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is a portrait of how she felt when she finally stopped caring what an ex boyfriend thought of her. In an interview with USA Today, Swift says that ex whose identity she doesn't reveal, made her feel that her music was "not as good or as relevant" as the "hipster bands he listened to." So, Swift says she set out to write a song that she "knew would absolutely drive him crazy when he heard it on the radio."

KRISTIN CHENOWETH STILL RECOVERING FROM ACCIDENT
UNDATED (AP) - After being seriously injured on the set of the CBS TV show "The Good Wife," Kristin Chenoweth says she's "doing great" but it's an "ongoing recovery." She tells People magazine that she recently discovered that she has three cracked teeth from the accident, in addition to having neck issues and a 5-inch skull fracture that she says is healing. Chenoweth calls the experience "life changing" and says now she is "only doing things that really matter." On November 1 she'll head to Las Vegas to co-host the American Country Awards with Trace Adkins.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD'S SWEET 16
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Carrie Underwood's latest single "Blown Away" took the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Country charts this week. The title-track off her most recent album is now her 16th No. 1 single. The album made history this spring by debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart making Underwood only the second country artist in the 47-year history of the chart to have each of her first four albums debut at No. 1. "Blown Away" also debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre chart.

AMY GRANT OPENS UP TO KATIE COURIC ABOUT HER PARENTS' DEMENTIA
UNDATED (AP) - Amy Grant says dealing with her parents' dementia at first felt like being on a "slippery slope." In an interview with Katie Couric on Couric's new talk show "Katie," Grant opens up about her journey with her aging parents. Their diagnosis initially left Grant feeling angry and she says she cried a lot. But on the advice of a friend she learned to have a sense of humor. She came to realize that her parents' condition and how she handled it was going to be "the last great lesson" she would learn from them.

JERROD NEIMANN COUNTS FRIENDS AND FAMILY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Jerrod Niemann says "there's nothing like support and friendship" and he counts on his family and pals including Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Lee Brice. Niemann says his relationships with his peers are especially important because they came up together through the music industry ranks. He credits Jamey Johnson's success for helping to pave the way for him and others and says they lean on each other for support. Making music is a dream come true says Niemann, but watching his friends succeed is equally fulfilling. Neimann released his sophomore album, "Free The Music," earlier this month.

T.G. SHEPPARD IN CRITICAL CONDITION
UNDATED (AP) - T.G. Sheppard is still in critical condition after being hospitalized late last week for a bladder infection. Country Weekly reports that Sheppard's wife Kelly Lang released a statement explaining the infection "spread into his bloodstream and is very hard to treat." The "Slow Burn" singer is in a Nashville-area hospital. Lang says he is "very weak" and is being treated for a high and irregular heart rate, a complication from the infection.

MIRANDA LAMBERT AND BLAKE SHELTON NOT QUITE READY FOR PARENTHOOD
NASHVILLE, (AP) - Miranda Lambert says her and husband Blake Shelton's schedules are too hectic to start a family anytime soon. Lambert tells Good Housekeeping magazine that she doesn't "want to raise a child on a bus or in L.A." and she wants to be "a little more settled" before embarking on motherhood. Lambert, who graces the cover of the November issue, points out that she and Shelton have been married almost a year and a half, but have only been in the same place together for about five months. But she's not complaining. Lambert says she knows she's very lucky and at that rate, they'll be "newlyweds for three years."

TOBY KEITH SAYS IT TOOK FIVE SECONDS TO TURN DOWN AMERICAN IDOL
UNDATED (AP) - Rumors swirled over the summer about which country star was going to be named the next "American Idol" judge. Before Keith Urban took the job, Toby Keith tells "Country Weekly" he declined an offer. "It's a great big TV show," he says and a "lucrative deal" but still it only took him "five seconds" to think about it and decline. Keith knew he would regret the time commitment so he says he "just turned it down quick."

BRAD PAISLEY AND RASCAL FLATTS GIFT COWS TO MASAI TRIBE
UNDATED (AP) - Members of a Masai tribe in Kenya are now the proud owners of four cows named, Paisley, Gary, Joe Don and Jay. As in Brad Paisley and all the guys in Rascal Flatts. The musicians each donated a cow to the tribe whose herd dwindled due to a draught several years ago. Paisley also picked up the tab to send Detroit morning radio personality Steve Grunwald to personally deliver the bovine gift. It all started out as a dare in 2007 when Paisley bet Grunwald that he couldn't travel to 10 countries in 10 days. Grunwald did it and stayed in touch with members of the tribe who contacted him recently about their need for a new cow. Paisley was happy to help out and when the members of Rascal Flatts heard about the mission, they offered funds to buy the village three additional cows. Grunwald made the trip last week and reports on his WYCD blog that the tribe waited by the road for two days and were "very happy" to see him and the four cows.

TAYLOR SWIFT HAS FANS IN ETHEL AND RORY KENNEDY
Beverly Hills, Calif. (AP) - Kennedy family matriarch, Ethel Kennedy, says "we should be so lucky" when asked about Taylor Swift who is dating her grandson, Conor. The elderly Kennedy was with filmmaker daughter Rory Kennedy in Beverly Hills to talk about Rory's new documentary on her mother, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy. Rory met Swift when she took her daughters to a concert and "that's what started it all" according to Ethel Kennedy. Rory says Swift is "awesome."

"X FACTOR"
LOS ANGELES (AP) - At least a couple of country guys make it to the live rounds on "The X Factor." Tate Stevens and Willie Jones both got the good news on last night's episode. But Fox didn't air the whole show, because of a rain delay in the National League playoff game. The West Coast saw a rerun. Fox says the entire two-hour episode will air next Tuesday.
