BOX BUTTE 4-H LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM DOES WELL AT KEARNEY

4H Judging _ March 5

Eight members of the Box Butte County 4-H Livestock Judging team and two of their coaches traveled to Kearney recently to participate in the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic Livestock Judging Contest.

The Junior Divison consisted of 58 contestants and 12 teams. The Senior Divison was made up of 47 contestants and 10 teams. The Junior team of Jayce Meyring, Jayda Meyring, Wade Sanders and Dani Carter brought home the Reserve Champion honors.

Plaques were awarded to the top 10 placings in each age category. Results of individual team members placing in the top 10 are:

Juniors: Jayce Meyring (5th in Questions and 12th overall); Dani Carter (7th in Questions and 11th overall). Other Juniors include: Shanna Jo Weaver (23rd overall); Jayda Meyring (25th overall); Wade Sanders (38th overall).

The Senior team members which placed 6th overall were Krista Carter, Ashtyn Shrewsbury and Roy Kesterson. Their placings are: Krista Carter (7th in Reasons, 9th in placings and 7th overall); Ashtyn Shrewsbury (8th in reasons and 27th overall); Roy Kesterson (21st overall).

Coaches for the livestock judging team are Jay & Shauna Meyring and Teresa Sanders.
