Betty Pittman, 86, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance.

 

Betty Jane (Weinmaster) Pittman was born July 7, 1928 in Worland, WY to Pauline & Andrew Weinmaster.  Betty attended school in Cedar Valley K-8 and graduated from Gering High School in 1946.  She married Riney Bertram they had 3 children, Rodney, Michael, & Renee.

 

Betty married James Pittman they were married for 34 years.  James brought 5 children into the marriage, Kevin, Rebecca (Becky), Jack, Debra, & David.

 

Betty had a career in law enforcement for 35 years.  She was with the Scottsbluff County Sheriff’s Office and Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office.  She enjoyed her church; spending time with her friends at Rosewood Estates and she loved being with her family.

 

Survivors are her daughter, Renee Smith of Alliance NE, her grandson, Michael Adams of Lincoln NE, daughter-in-law, Shirley Bertram of Gothenburg NE and grandchildren, Jennifer & Scott Mavin and children Lexi, & Brea of Carlisle IA, Jason Reitz and Allie Dunne and children twins, Lily and Hazel of New Orleans LA, daughter-in-law, Doris Bertram of Aynor, SC, and grandchildren, Nikki (Bertram) Wolford husband, Ryan and children Madison, Alexi, Ryott of Conway SC, Ricky McLaughlin (Sherri) and children, Seth Megan of Westminster SC, daughter-in-law, Sandy Pittman (Kevin) Torrington, WY, daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Branson and children, Ayden & Braylon of Chadron, NE, daughter, Sarah Pittman and children, Raelynne & Clayton of Torrington, WY, Jack (Patt) Pittman of Morrill NE  and sons, Andy (Alisa) Pittman  and family of Scottsbluff NE, Adam and family of Mitchell NE, Jacob Pittman Caitlin Daughter Tatum Gering. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Fox of Alliance, NE and her son, Andy Weinmaster and Deb Brown of Alliance NE, her brother Rubin (Edna) Weinmaster of Loveland CO, their children, Eric (Sherri) Weinmaster and family of Fort Collins CO and Lisa (Russ) Glauner and family of Cheyenne WY as well as numerous other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & other family members.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, sons Rodney and Michael Bertram step-son, Kevin Pittman, step-daughter, Becky Gaskill, nephew, Joseph Fox and grandson, Jimmy Pittman and various other family members.

 

In lieu of flower family requests memorials be given to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and School Endowment Fund in Alliance, NE.

 

Memorial services will be Monday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Martin T. Schnare officiating. Inurnment will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery.
