At their meeting January 28, the Box Butte General Hospital (BBGH) Board of Trustees approved $10,000 for ten $1,000 scholarships to service area graduating high school seniors. The Box Butte Health Foundation (BBHF) Board members tacked on another $5,000 in scholarships February 5, with that amount designated for five $1,000 scholarships to college students seeking careers in health care. Applicants must be residents of Box Butte, Dawes, Morrill, Sheridan or Grant Counties.

Applications are now being accepted. Application forms, along with reference forms, are available at the BBGH web site, www.bbgh.org. Scroll down on the home page and click on the “Education/Scholarship Opportunities” link, then the “2019 Scholarship” link that pops up. The application/reference form link is at the bottom of the page. The scholarship page also provides all the information students need to successfully complete their applications. Incomplete applications will not be considered, so be sure to follow the instructions and complete each requirement. The application deadline is Friday, March 29, 2019. Applications and references can be mailed to Box Butte General Hospital, PO Box 810, Alliance, NE 69301, or dropped off at Ms. Mach’s office from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
