CHADRON – Zac Bargen of Chadron State and Addy Roller of Wayne State are the Nebraska Division II Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Bargen, a 6-foot-5 junior guard from Chadron, averaged 26.5 points on the Eagles 2,000-mile 2-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference road trip to New Mexico last week.
He 33 points, including six 3-pointers to go along with 7 rebounds in an 89-86 double overtime loss at New Mexico Highland on Friday, and 20 points and 6 rebounds in a 75-65 loss Saturday at Western New Mexico.
Bargen is the leading scorer in the RMAC at 18.9 points per game, shooting 46% from three-point range and leading the Eagles in rebounding at 5.5 per game.
Roller, a 5-8 freshman guard from Purdy, Mo., averaged 17 points, three assists and three steals per game for the #22 Wildcats in two games over the weekend.
She scored 12 points, all in the second half, during Friday’s 51-44 win over Minot State and added a career-high 22 points on seven of 12 shooting, including four treys, in Saturday’s 57-54 loss to the University of Mary.
For the weekend, Roller was 6 of 11 from three-point range and hit all 10 of her free throws.
