Authorities Launch Safety Campaign for New Year’s Weekend

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) – The Wyoming Highway Patrol is launching a social media campaign in an effort to prevent drunken driving and highlight traffic safety over New Year’s weekend.

The campaign, called (hash)DoNotGetHashtaggedByWHP, aims to encourage impaired people to stay off Wyoming roads. The agency plans to post updates on social media related to DUI arrests and other safety violations by drivers around the state.

A DUI Regional Task Force with Cheyenne-area law enforcement will also be on duty on New Year’s Eve.
