NEW YORK (AP) – It’s the same old claws and crazy mutton chop sideburns as always. But Hugh Jackman says each time he does the role of “Wolverine,” it’s different. He has now suited up as the X-Men movie character six times – including the version that opens in theaters today. And he says each time he does, he tries to delve into the character’s psyche a little more. He says he enjoys being Wolverine more each time – and thinks it has something to do with his getting older. He says he figures Wolverine’s age to be between 150 and 300 years old. And Jackman says some mornings when he got those 4 a.m. wake-up calls, he felt every second of his character’s age.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – It was a chance for Cory Monteith’s “Glee” family to say farewell to the actor. Fox TV says Glee co-star and Monteith’s real-life girlfriend Lea Michel was on hand for yesterday’s memorial in Los Angeles – as was the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy. They, cast members and crew shared memories of the actor in what was described as “an emotional celebration” of Monteith’s life. Montieth was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 13. An autopsy revealed he died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol. Glee will do a special tribute episode honoring him – and addressing the death of his character, Finn.

NEW YORK (AP) – Loretta Lynn and Vince Gill are among the musicians bringing the music of the Civil War back to life. They are part of a two-disc set of Civil War songs called “Divided and United.” Other artists include Dolly Parton, Lee Ann Womack, Ralph Stanley, T Bone Burnett, Jamey Johnson and Steve Earle. The collection comes out this fall, but you can hear Lynn’s version of “Take Your Gun and Go, John” on RollingStone.com.

NEW YORK (AP) – To Jimmy Fallon, there was only one important child born this week – his. The “Late Night” host and his wife Nancy have welcomed their first child into the world. A rep for Fallon released the news about the Tuesday birth. But it wasn’t until he returned from a day off work last night that Fallon got the chance to talk about his daughter on the air. He joked he had gotten lots of well-wishes. And he cracked that the British royal couple has been bugging him about setting up a play date between their newborn prince and Fallon’s kid. Fallon also noted that President Barack Obama had his own advice for the royals: make sure you hold on to the birth certificate.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – It probably would have been quite the spectacle to watch: Sasha Baron Cohen as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a movie. But it looks like that won’t happen now. Cohen has pulled out of the project. Deadline.com says the reason is creative differences with Queen over the shape the project would take. Cohen wants the movie to be rated R, while the surviving members of Queen want it rated PG-13. The musicians also disagreed with some of the writers and directors Cohen wants to bring aboard the project.

LONDON (AP) – Britain’s new prince has spent his first night at his Kensington Palace apartment – the day after offering a royal wave upon being presented to the world’s media for the first time.

The name of the new third in line to the throne hasn’t been revealed yet. Bookmaker William Hill has George as the favorite name at 2-to-1 odds, with James at 4-to-1.

Images of the prince, his little hand peeking above a white crocheted wrap, blanketed the front pages of newspapers Wednesday. The Daily Mail offered a photo album image with the headline “Baby’s first royal wave.”

The prince slept through his debut public appearance – though Prince William assured the media he had “a good pair of lungs on him.”

LONDON (AP) – Back in 1969, The Rolling Stones performed a concert in London’s Hyde Park. And earlier this month, they played there again, this time doing two dates there. The album from the most recent show is now available on iTunes. The performance includes versions of “Start Me Up,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Ruby Tuesday” and “Paint It Black.” The “Hyde Park Live” album will be on iTunes exclusively until August 19.
