LOS ANGELES (AP) – Steven Spielberg says he’s amazed Abraham Lincoln didn’t “crack up” as he juggled persuading Congress to abolish slavery while dealing with the death of his infant son and an unstable wife. He says it “amazes” him that Lincoln was able to get through it “with a steady moral compass and an even keel.” Spielberg’s movie about Lincoln opens in more theaters this Friday.

WHO’S #1 AT THE BOX OFFICE? BOND…JAMES BOND
LOS ANGELES (AP) – The sky’s the limit for James Bond’s “Skyfall.” The 23rd Bond film opens at number-one. Skyfall hauls in a franchise-record of nearly 88 million dollars. Add in the Thursdsay night IMAX and big-screen previews and you’re talking 90 mil. “Wreck-It Ralph” drops to second, followed by “Flight.” Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” has a huge start in a handful of theaters. Lincoln takes in 900-thousand dollars playing in just 11 theaters. That’s a whopping average of nearly 82-grand each — more than three times the weekend’s number-one movie “Skyfall.”

JASON’S YOUTUBE FLASHBACK! WEEKEND EDITION
Time to go Back….To the 80s! Here are some totally awesome commercials that originally aired during the 1989 broadcast of “Bugs Bunny’s Thanksgiving Diet”. Am I the only one who misses the days when every holiday was an excuse to cut together some old Looney Tunes and stitch them together with $1.98 worth of new animation? Probably. Anyway, set the flux capacitor to “restaurant tie-ins” and here we go!

500 EPISODES (AND COUNTLESS SHOTS TO THE GROIN) FOR “AFV”
LOS ANGELES (AP) – “America’s Funniest Home Videos” airs its 500th episode this Sunday. That’s a lot of kicks to the groin. A million in fact. The one millionth guy to get hit in the groin will be awarded the Golden Cup during the episode. The show has been on 23 seasons. During that time, it’s given away more than $12 million to the people who sent in their videos. This season, viewers will be able to vote online for the person who should get the $100,000 top prize. You can vote in a 24-hour period from Sunday night to Monday night.
BOND GETS EMOTIONAL! (MAYBE THEY SHOULD CALL IT “CRYFALL”)
NEW YORK (AP) – Daniel Craig never seems to stop running in “Skyfall.” As he puts it, James Bond never seems to walk from one place to another. Trouble is, Craig says he hates running. So he had to train by doing a lot of sprints and longer runs. There’s also a first for Bond in Skyfall. He cries in an emotional scene toward the end of the movie. Not that Craig will admit it. He says that was sweat running down his face, not tears. Skyfall opens today.
IT’S A HORNY CHRISTMAS WITH CHICAGO
SEDONA, Ariz. (AP) – The band Chicago has two Christmas albums out, but they don’t ever do all-Christmas concerts. Trumpeter Lee Loughnane (LOK’-nayn) says they’ve learned they can’t do more than two holiday songs live or people get antsy to hear their hits. He sort of understands: Loughnane says he only puts on Chicago Christmas music every four or five years. He says if one of the songs comes on the radio, he’ll think, “Oh yeah, that came out pretty good!” Chicago’s two holiday albums have been packaged together with a lower price as “Chicago’s Ultimate Christmas Collection.”
