ALLIANCE ST. AGNES REPORT – SEPT. 3

St Agnes Image _ 2013Dear Parents and Students,

Hopefully, this week the temperatures will cool down at night, so we are able to have class all day. Last week, with the warm temperatures at night, we were unable to get our classrooms to cool down, so it was necessary to have shortened days. The forecast predicts cooler days this week. Let’s hope so!

St. Agnes Youth or SAY held their speeches and elections last week. SAY Representatives for 2013-2014 are from fourth grade; Emma Wood, Lilly Wagner, Leyton Schnell, Mikayla Seebohm, Alaysha Englehaupt, Shelbee Burke, Rasine Bolek, Keagan Bass. SAY Representatives from fifth grade; Jake Wallesen, Peittyn Johnson, Kelsey Horton, Crayten Cyza and Chase Boyer. Sixth grades representative are Lilly Otto, Charlie Otto and Madison Adam. Ryley Rolls, Adriana Olvera, Megan Oligmueller, and Emerson Cyza will represent the 7th grade and Ashlee Wallesen, Cherokee Purviance, Josie Otto and Bailey Johnson are the 8th grade representatives. Thank you all for being willing to serve SAA. The first meeting is today, Sept. 3 at 1:05 in the PC library.

Mathcounts starts Wednesday morning at 7:15 A.M. in Miss Schmeits‘ room. At present 15 students are signed up for Mathcounts. Anyone in 5th through 8th grade may join us. You do not need to be a math wizard. You need to be willing to participate. Thank you, Ms. Schmeits

The Fall Parents Inc. meeting will be held at 7:00 on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Parent’s Inc. is St. Agnes’s parent organization. All parents are requested to come to this meeting at 6:30 to sign up for the various fund raisers that Parents Inc. sponsors. This is also a good time to meet the new teachers and other parents.

In the spring, each family is required to sell/buy ten tickets for our Calendar Raffle. Each ticket is sold for $25 dollars and enters the recipient into a weekly drawing for $75 and two drawings of $1000 dollars. If a family fails to sell the tickets, that portion will be added to their tuition.

If you plan on driving for sporting events or school field trips this year please make sure you’ve completed all of the forms. We need a copy of your driver’s license and your insurance card before you drive.

If any SAA parents work for the BNSF Railroad please be aware that any donation that you make to St. Agnes can be matched by the BNSF Foundation. The paperwork is available at school if you would like to have your donation matched. So for example if you donate to the adopt-a-student program and you give a certain amount every year. They will match the donation up to $2000. What a great way to support the school!

There are still tuition contracts that have not been returned. It is mandatory that we have a signed copy for our records. If you have not returned one, please do so ASAP. If you are not sure you can call the school office and ask.

Have a great week!

Theresa Parker

Principal, Alliance St. Agnes Academy
