Several choirs from around the region competed at the annual Old West Music Festival Saturday, Nov. 3, at Scottsbluff High School.
The choirs were judged by three professionals in the music industry and awarded a gold, silver, or bronze.
Seven choirs were then invited back to compete in the finals, known as “Best of the Fest.”
The Alliance Middle School’s Una Voice received a bronze, while the AMS Dynamics received a silver.
The Alliance High all girl’s show choir, Velocity, received a silver as did the Harmonics mixed choir. However, Harmonics was invited to participate in the finals.
The Chadron Cardinal Singers received a gold, as did the Bayard High 21st Century Singers and the Gering High Harmony. Chadron, Gering, and Bayard also were invited to compete in the finals.
Aurora, Colorado’s Gateway High School won the top award, followed by Gering and Bayard.
The Alliance Harmonics were given the “Class Act” award, for the way the students conducted themselves on and off stage.
Schools from Scottsbluff, Alliance, Imperial, Kimball, Hershey, Sidney, Mitchell, Chadron, and Aurora, CO competed.
