The Alliance Public Library will be offering concerts in the rose garden on Thursday evenings at 6:30 beginning May 29. This year’s entertainment will feature a variety of styles, including soft rock, folk, Latin, standards, violin, and brass music.
Several audience favorites from previous years will be returning, including Karena Soriano, Becky Mitchell, Across the Border, and St. John’s Brass. This year we’ll also see some new faces: Kalin Krohe, Roger Bunnell, Andy and Austen Fults, Barbie Beck, and Skyline.
“Literary Elements” is the theme of the Library’s 2014 Adult Summer Reading Program. The Library will be running a variety of contests that will combine science and literature. A short puzzle will be available before each summer concert, with the winner receiving five coupons for ice cream at Dairy Queen. Come early to look up answers you don’t know!
Thursday evenings will be the perfect time to update adult summer reading sheets, check out books, DVDs, sign up for Overdrive to download e-books and audio books for your summer travels, and become better acquainted with the Library’s collection.
There is no charge to attend the Summer Concert Series. You are asked to bring your own lawn chairs to the rose garden. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held in the community meeting rooms. Refreshments will be served.
