The Alliance High School Band held its annual awards concert Tuesday night at the Performing Arts Center.
Several students were presented their band letters.
The band performed several numbers, including the songs it will march to next fall.
Dozens of 8th graders joined the 9-12 students on stage while performing the fall, 2013 marching band show.
It was the final concert for band director Dave Rischling, who will retire after serving 21 years with the band program. He was presented a watch by head majorette Ashley Quick.
The outstanding senior award was presented to Ashtyn Shrewsbury.
It was also announced that Jazlyn Hausmann was named as a new majorette, joining Christa Horn and Ashley Quick.
The end-of-year band concert for the Alliance Middle School will be held tonight (May 15) at 7 at the PAC.

New AHS band director David May visits with the crowd. May will move to Alliance from the Omaha area. He directed one number, and it was announced that he had traveled to Alliance three times to help with concert preparation.

Ashtyn Shrewsbury was named the band’s Outstanding Senior Member. Ashtyn was not in attendance to accept he honor, however. She was involved in FFA Leadership Camp activities in Aurora, NE. Ashtyn was recently named a Nebraska State FFA Vice-President.
