Kyle Seager homered and drove in four runs, Robinson Cano also connected and the Seattle Mariners beat the Colorado Rockies 10-4 on Tuesday.
Jean Segura had four hits and Ariel Miranda (5-2) pitched five innings to help the Mariners sweep two games in Denver and pin a rare series loss on Colorado. It was just the Rockies’ third loss in 17 series and first since April 24-27 against Washington.
Colorado can even the score when the home-and-home matchup moves to Seattle for two games starting Wednesday.
Ben Gamel, who replaced Nelson Cruz in the second inning, and Guillermo Heredia each had three of Seattle’s season-high 19 hits.

— Jose Altuve had four hits and two RBIs, Mike Fiers struck out eight over six innings in his bid to retain a spot in Houston’s banged-up rotation, and the major league-leading Astros beat the Minnesota Twins 7-2 on Tuesday night for their sixth straight victory. Alex Bregman homered and drove in two runs, providing further support for Fiers (2-2) in his best of 10 starts this season.
— Jay Bruce lined a game-ending single in the 12th inning and the New York Mets rebounded to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 after shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera allowed the tying runs to score in the seventh when he flubbed a bases-loaded popup with two outs. The Mets extended a winning streak to three for the first time since May 3-6 by winning for just the second time in seven extra-inning games. The NL Central-leading Brewers lost for the seventh time in nine games.
— Albert Pujols hit his 599th career homer during the Los Angeles Angels’ nine-run third inning in a 9-3 victory over struggling Bartolo Colon and the Atlanta Braves. Pujols moved to the brink of his latest milestone with a three-run homer off Colon early in the Angels’ biggest one-inning rally of the season.
— Austin Hedges had a home run and four RBIs, rookie Dinelson Lamet produced another strong outing and the San Diego Padres beat the Cubs 6-2, giving Chicago its fifth straight loss. Hedges hit a two-run homer and a two-run double as the Padres clinched the three-game series against the struggling Cubs.
— Chris Sale made a shaky return to his former home, but Deven Marrero hit two of Boston’s season-high six home runs and the Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox 13-7. Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland also went deep. The Red Sox won for the seventh time in nine games after an anticipated duel between aces never materialized.
—Elvis Andrus had a career-high five RBIs, including a tying three-run homer in the seventh inning, Jared Hoying hit a tiebreaking single that missed going out by about a foot and the Texas Rangers rallied to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 9-5.
—Chase Utley, Logan Forsythe and Chris Taylor combined to reach base 11 times and totaled six runs, helping the streaking Los Angeles Dodgers rally past the St. Louis Cardinals 9-4 into first place in the NL West. Utley finished a homer shy of the cycle as the Dodgers won their season-high sixth straight game. Forsythe reached five times, including three walks, and Taylor reached three times.
—Eric Skoglund pitched 6 1/3 innings of two-hit ball in his major league debut, helping the Kansas City Royals beat Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers 1-0. Skoglund, a 2014 third-round draft pick out of Central Florida, struck out five and walked one. The left-hander was promoted from Triple-A Omaha when the Royals placed Danny Duffy on the disabled list Monday with an oblique strain.
— Kendrys Morales hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning, Josh Donaldson added an upper deck drive and the surging Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-4. All six Toronto runs came on homers. Jose Bautista and Russell Martin also connected for the Blue Jays, who have hit 47 homers in May and have won six of their last eight games. Cincinnati’s Zack Cozart hit two solo home runs and Joey Votto had a third.
— Robbie Ray pitched a four-hitter in his first career complete game and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-0. Ray (5-3) struck out 10, had no walks and threw 115 pitches. The left-hander set a career high by winning his third straight start and has pitched 23 2/3 scoreless innings during that run, all on the road, while also beating the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers.
— Giancarlo Stanton hit his third homer since moving into the No. 2 spot in the batting order, a change that has revived the Miami Marlins, who won their third game in a row by beating the Philadelphia Phillies 7-2. Marcell Ozuna also homered for the Marlins, whose modest winning streak is their longest since mid-April.
—Hot-hitting outfielder Brett Gardner hit his 10th and 11th homers of the season to lead the New York Yankees to a 8-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Matt Holliday also hit his 11th for the Yankees and Luis Severino moved his record to 4-2 with 6-plus strong innings.
— Trevor Bauer struck out an AL-best 14 in seven innings, and the Cleveland Indians beat the Oakland Athletics 9-4. Bauer’s career-best strikeout total was one shy of this season’s major league-high of 15 by Washington’s Stephen Strasburg against San Diego on Saturday.Bauer (5-4) recorded his eighth career game of 10 or more strikeouts. He struck out the side in the first, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. The right-hander allowed three runs and seven hits with one walk.
— Gio Gonzalez pitched into the seventh inning to win for the first time in more than a month, and the Washington Nationals beat the San Francisco Giants 6-3. Daniel Murphy and Trea Turner had three hits apiece as the NL East leaders won their fourth in five games. The teams played without incident one night after a wild, bench-clearing brawl that resulted in suspensions for Washington outfielder Bryce Harper and San Francisco reliever Hunter Strickland.
