The Alliance Kiwanis Club is pleased to announce that the 2017 Terry Padden Memorial Scholarship of $500 has been awarded to graduating Hemingford High School senior Natalie Gasseling (at right). The certificate of award was presented to Natalie by Alliance Kiwanis Club President Brian Kuhn on May 16. Natalie, the daughter of Ryan and Jennifer Gasseling of Hemingford, will be attending Wayne State College (WSC) to start her career path to become a Physician Assistant (PA). Her scholarship and extracurricular activities has resulted in her being accepted into the Wayne State College Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) for PA studies, one of only three chosen by WSC for that field of study. The Alliance Kiwanis Club has awarded a $500 scholarship in memory of Terry Padden since 2008, for a year-to-date total of $4,500 in scholarships awarded to worthy high school seniors seeking a career in health care. Mr. Padden was the CEO of Box Butte General Hospital and a member of the Alliance Kiwanis Club.
