WASHINGTON (AP) — Kelly Clarkson has come a long way since performing for Simon Cowell. Now she’s going to perform for President Obama. She’ll sing “My Country Tis of Thee” at the inauguration, the song Aretha Franklin sang for Obama the last time when she wore her now-famous hat.

Clarkson was an Obama supporter in 2008, but said she was a fan of Ron Paul in this election. Beyonce will sing the national anthem and James Taylor will perform “America the Beautiful.”
