According to Alliance Police Lieutenant Edward Tjaden, “over the past several days, the Alliance Police Department has been receiving and investigating reports of criminal mischief. On November 28, 2016 two local juveniles were cited for criminal mischief in these cases. The juveniles were contacted during the investigation and found to be in possession of specific physical evidence which linked them to the crimes. They were interviewed and admitted to causing damage to windows in the area. So far, twelve reports have been filed with the Alliance Police Department, with damage estimates totaling $5,700. These reports, along with the citations and identity of the juveniles has been forwarded to the Box Butte County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.”
Tjaden says, “this case was solved with a combination of diligent police work and public assistance from victim/witnesses who shared information about the suspects’ vehicle. The Alliance Police Department thanks the public for their assistance, and wants to remind people to please report suspicious and criminal behavior.”
