The Mission Store, Inc. announced the 2016 recipients for its 9th annual mini-grants. According to the Mission Store Board of Directors, there were less applicants and a little less funding this year. In 2015 the Board awarded $53,000 to local organizations.
Receiving grants were: Just Neighbors, Museum Partners, Alliance Dog Owners Group, St. John’s Piecemakers, Senior Crafters, Santa’s Helpers, Alliance Young Life: Wyldlife Camping Program, Alliance Team Mates, Alliance Park Foundation, Dobby’s Frontier Towners (2), Alliance Spartan Baseball, Box Butte Family Coalition, Inc, Alliance Autism, Backpack Program, IMOG (Indian Mission Church of God) Homeless Ministry, and the Alliance Ministerial Association.
Most applicants were funded with three not making the cut this year. Importantly, to be funded the following year organizations must summit a form accompanying the grant to account for how the current monies were spent. All funds are generated through the sale of items at the Mission Store on Box Butte Ave. in Alliance.
