OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Three people were injured when a sport utility vehicle crashed into the terminal at Omaha’s airport.
Omaha Airport Authority Police Chief Tim Conahan says the man driving the Jeep Grand Cherokee had arrived on a flight from California shortly before the 1:35 p.m. incident.
Conahan says the man’s brother needed to use the restroom, so he asked the man to drive around the terminal and pick him up.
But the driver was startled when he shifted into reverse and then put the SUV in drive. The vehicle hit the driver’s brother and a woman in a wheelchair getting into a car before smashing into a glass revolving door and window.
The driver’s brother was in critical condition and the woman was in serious condition. The driver sustained minor injuries.
