Dorothy M. McDonald, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance.

She was born January 17, 1930 at Hemingford, NE to Fred and Anna (Fronapfel) Tschacher.

On July 27, 1953 she was united in marriage to George McDonald in Hot Springs, SD.

Dorothy was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and active in many ways including Relegious Education Instructor, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, working at the Collection Basket and a member of Legion of Mary and Altar Society. A woman of great faith she was dedicated to her church and family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, George, her sons, Father Mike McDonald of Gering, Pat (Margaret) McDonald of Louisville, TX, Dave (Sandy) McDonald of Northglenn, CO and Tim (Brenda) McDonald of Alliance, her grandchildren, Sarah McDonald, Matthew McDonald, Nathan McDonald, Shawn McDonald, Jordan McDonald, Krista (McDonald) Nemeth, Chelsea McDonald and Kay Lee McDonald, 2 great-grandchildren and an expected great-grandchild.  She is also survived by her brother, George (Devona) Tschacher of Cheyenne,  WY , her sister-in-law, Helga Tschacher of Scottsbluff and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Sr. Annette Tschacher,  her brother, Lee Tschacher, an infant sister, Evelyn, her sister, Marge Stine and brothers-in-law, Gene Connolly and Ken Stine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Mike McDonald as Celebrant and Fathers Tim Stoner, Roy Pasala and other Priests of the Grand Island Diocese con-celebrating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  A wake service will be Sunday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1- 5 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home and at the wake service.

Memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Church or the Diocese of Grand Island Priests Retirement.
