Luvena “Louise” Vaughan, 84, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Crossroads Assisted Living.
She was born October 14, 1928 at Jericho, Texas to Newton Isaac and Bessie Mae (Shelton) Taber.
She married Julius Carter Vaughan on January 15, 1951 in Henderson, Nevada
Louise had lived in Quartzsite, Arizona for several years before moving to Nebraska to be near her family. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, jam sessions, and bible studies; she loved Jesus. She was always willing to give a helping hand, loved her dog Lucy, loved owls, and especially loved her husband and children.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (John) Leachman of Alliance, Gary T. (Patricia Ann) Vaughan of Riverside, CA, Larry (Carolyn) Vaughan of Quartzsite, AZ, and Linda (Joe) Howe of Arbela, MO. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Taber of Daytona, FL; 10 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Marvin and Leroy, her sister Patty, and her great grandchild Dylan.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alliance Cemetery. Pastor Steve Hahn will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the family present from 9-12.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
