Brian Wood is back on the football field and working toward a spot alongside his twin brother Ryan in Chadron State’s defensive backfield.

After a year away from competition Brian is hoping to earn a prominent role at safety and play next to his brother Ryan who is one of the hardest hitters in the RMAC.

We talked to Brian on a breezy Saturday morning at practice following a session of leg and hamstring exercises.

 

He says defensive backs coach Craig Jersild switched him from corner to safety and he’s excited about the move.

The competitive spirit Brian and Ryan have is what pushes them to be better defensive backs and Brian says the family gets in on the debate of who’s playing better at any given time.

 

Brian Wood says he’s been working hard in the weight room and with his footwork as well.
