It was over almost right after it started as Chadron State launched an onslaught of offense from the very first offensive play from scrimmage. Running back Michael Madkins hit Danny O’Boyle on a 74-yard halfback pass for the first of three CSC first quarter touchdowns and a 21-3 lead going into the second. The Eagles added 17 more points before the half with receivers Austen Stephens and Kyle Vinich each catching their second touchdown passes of the day and CSC led 38-10 at intermission. Adams State got as close as 38-24 with a pair of Auston Hillman to J.R. Watters touchdown connections but Madkins rushed in a score from seven yards out to seal the victory halfway through the fourth quarter.
