COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State College senior cross country runner Kelley Troester has been named to the 2012 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country All-Academic Second Team.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30, be a starter or key reserve and completed two consecutive semesters at his or her school.
Troester, a senior from Marsland, has a 3.97 GPA in rangeland management and is the first cross country runner from Chadron State to be named to the all-academic team.
Five other Eagles – three men and two women – earned honorable mention all-academic honors.
They are Gavan Archibald, a junior from St. Ann, Jamaica, Alex Johnson, a senior from Kearney, Mathew Mathiason, a junior from Pierce, Colo., Jayme Nunes, a sophomore from Alliance, and Becca Volf, a redshirt freshman from Wood River.
The RMAC Women’s All-Academic Runner of the Year is Adams State’s Kelly Lamb.
Colorado School of Mines’ Russell Drummond is the RMAC All-Academic Men’s Runner of the Year.
