Box Butte County Attorney Charlotte Hood announced today that she has filed Robbery charges on Richard Edward Trapp, age 25, of Gering, Nebraska relating to the April 30, 2015 armed robbery of the ShopKo Pharmacy in Alliance. Trapp is also being charged with Use of Firearm to Commit a Felony and 2 Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mr. Trapp was arrested at his Gering residence on May 27, 2015 following a Torrington, Wyoming ShopKo Pharmacy robbery on that date. Mr. Trapp is suspected of robbing two pharmacies in Scottsbluff, one in Sterling, Colorado, one in Alliance, Nebraska, in addition to the Torrington, Wyoming robbery. Mr. Trapp is currently being held in the Scotts Bluff County Jail in lieu of a one million dollar bond.
Alliance Police Department investigators have been waiting for results from the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab before forwarding the completed case report to the Box Butte County Attorney’s Office.
