Giancarlo Stanton drove in four runs with his 22nd homer and a 40-foot single, and the Miami Marlins broke a three-game losing streak Thursday night by beating Colorado 6-0.
David Phelps (3-3), rocked by the Rockies at Coors Field last week, pitched a career-high eight innings, allowing four hits. Chris Rusin (2-1), who beat Phelps last week, gave up 11 hits and six runs in 5 1-3 innings.
Stanton came into the game leading the majors in home runs and RBIs, and he pulled a liner into the Rockies bullpen for a three-run homer in the first inning. It was only his second homer this year with more than one runner on base.
Stanton drove in another run in the second with two-out swinging bunt that rolled to a stop on the foul line. He has 13 homers and 41 RBIs in 35 career games against Colorado.

The San Francisco Giants headed home after failing to complete a three-game sweep of the New York Mets.
The Giants squandered leads of 2-0 and 4-3 before Michael Cuddyer laced a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Mets a 5-4 victory. Cuddyer also hit an RBI double that put the Mets ahead 3-2 in the fifth, but the Giants regained the lead on Brandon Crawford’s two-run homer in the sixth.
The Mets won for just the third time in nine games and moved back into first place in the National League East, a half-game ahead of Washington.
The Giants are 1 ½ games behind the West-leading Dodgers after completing a 4-2 road trip.
The Nationals blew a 5-1 lead and lost 6-5 at Milwaukee on Scooter Gennett’s RBI souble in the bottom of the eighth. Gerardo Parra tied it with a solo homer in the seventh before the Brewers handed the Nats their 10th loss in 13 games.
— Miguel Montero hit a three-run homer and Dexter Fowler added a solo blast as the Chicago Cubs beat Cincinnati 6-3, ending the Reds’ four-game winning streak. The Cubs’ bullpen limited the Reds to two hits in six shutout innings after Tsuyoshi Wada was rocked for the second consecutive start.
— Yangervis Solarte hit a two-run single in the 11th as the San Diego Padres beat the Braves 6-4 in Atlanta. The Braves had a 4-1 lead in the eighth until the Padres tied it on a passed ball, a bases-loaded walk and catcher’s interference. The game featured a benches-clearing incident after Padres’ outfielder Matt Kemp was drilled by a fastball from Julio Teheran in the first inning.
— Mike Trout smacked his 17th home run and added an RBI double before Albert Pujols belted a two-run homer in the Angels’ 6-2 triumph at Tampa Bay. Garrett Richards served up Steven Souza’s two-run homer in the second but gave up just three other hits while striking out seven in seven innings.
— Adam Jones, Nolan Reimold and Manny Machado hit solo homers as Baltimore beat Boston for the seventh time in nine games this season, 6-5. The Orioles are 18-12 at home following their fourth consecutive win.
— Scott Kazmir tossed one-hit ball over eight innings of Oakland’s 7-0 shutout of Texas. The Athletics were clinging to a 1-0 lead in the eighth until Mark Canha hit a two-run homer and Jose Reddick added a three-run blast in a six-run rally.
— Shaun Marcum gave up two hits in seven innings of Cleveland’s 6-0 shutout of Seattle. Colombian rookie Giovanny Urshela hit his first major league home run, poked an RBI single and scored on a two-run single by Roberto Perez.
