The Alliance Spartan seniors earned a win Wednesday night and the reason is very clear, Christian Clear that is.
Throwing a five-inning complete game and allowing just four hits Clear pitched Alliance to a 10-2 win over the Chadron Nationals Wednesday at Bower-Shankland Field. Clear ignited the Spartans offense at the plate too, going 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI.
Chadron briefly held a 2-1 before Alliance went on top with a pair of runs in the third followed by seven more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to win via the eight-run rule after five.
Kellon Hall had a pair of hits and drove in three Alliance runs. Keegan Barker chipped in too with a 2-for-2 night, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Alliance is now 2-0 in seniors competition against Chadron this summer and the Nationals saw a three game winning streak snap as the team’s record dips to 6-3. Alliance is 5-6-1.
Alliance also won the juniors game, 2-1, sending Chadron to a 3-5 mark.
Chadron is on the road tonight (Thursday) to face McCook in a seniors match-up while the juniors get the weekend off before heading to Sidney next Tuesday.
