Kids from across northwest Nebraska can showcase their talents in baseball and softball this weekend in Chadron. Major League Baseball’s Pitch Hit & Run competition will be held on Sunday, May 3 at Maurice Horse Field for kids ages 7-14.
Jennifer Brown is with the Chadron Kiwanis Club, which is hosting the event and she outlines the drills players will go through.
The top performers will move on to Sectionals with the possibility of going on to the Team Championships round and potentially the National Finals in Cincinnati at the All-Star Game this summer.
Brown says one local athlete made it all the way to Kansas City recently.
Registration begins at 1:30, the competition starts at 3:00, and Pitch, Hit & Run is a free event Sunday.
