During this National Volunteer Month, the Midwest Theater Salutes Dedicated Volunteers

midwest-theatreFriends of the Midwest Theater, a non-profit organization, was formed in 1998 by a core group of volunteer citizens, many of whom continue to donate their time.  Since then, our numbers have grown to over 300!  Generous volunteers provide a multitude of services for the Midwest, from cleaning to operating concessions.  Volunteers usher at our live events, prepare kids packs for school and summer movies, paint walls and prepare mailings for us.  They range in age from 6 to 96 and include a church youth group, a cheerleading organization, and a boy scout troop.

Concessions are operated by teams of volunteers.  Baird Physical Therapy, Valley Bank & Trust and Monument Physical Therapy have teams.  Scottsbluff High School DECA and Western Nebraska Home Educators’ Network have teams.  Many individuals have gathered friends, family and co-workers to spend time together working at Midwest events.

In 2014, volunteers logged over 6000 hours at the Midwest Theater.  “We wouldn’t be able to keep the doors open without so many people willing to give their time and talent, they truly are our superheroes ” says Billy Estes, Executive Director.
