Kinsley Mason, a sophomore pitcher at Pensacola State College in Florida, signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her softball career at Chadron State College, head coach Dr. Rob Stack announced Wednesday.
Mason, a native of Loveland, Colorado, has been an ace for the Pirates this season. In more than 90 innings of work, she’s earned 12 victories and boasts an earned run average of 2.40 and has struck out 56 batters. Since joining the Pirates, she’s also tossed two perfect games.
“Kinsley provides our pitching staff the ability to be potentially the best in the conference,” Stack said. “She comes from great softball programs and had success at high school, with her club team and at junior college. More importantly, she comes from a phenomenal family. I’m excited for her to continue her career for the Eagles.”
She played high school ball in both Florida and Colorado, earning a bevy of honors. She was named all-state twice in Colorado – as a junior and senior – and once in Florida. She earned spots on several all-conference teams and owns the record for most strikeouts in a game at Thompson Valley High School with 16 and most strikeouts in a season with 202.
Mason is the fifth student-athlete to ink with the Eagles. The other four all signed during the early signing period in November. They are Taylor Seely of Loveland, Colo., Alyssa Geist of Westminster, Colo., Dallas Magnusson of Sterling, Colo., and Kayla Michel of Brighton, Colo.
