AVONDALE, Ariz. – Led by Kelli Haynes’ top 10 finish, the Chadron State College women’s team golf team wrapped up their 2014-15 season with their best 36-hole score during the final day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships at Coldwater Golf Course. The Eagles shot 677, 13 strokes better than their previous best, and finished in 10th place.Metro State burned through the competition, claiming the conference title with 599. Colorado State University-Pueblo was second with 618. Metro had four of the top 10 golfers, while Pueblo’s Hee-Leina Kim won the individual crown with a 9-under par score of 135.Although Chadron State didn’t crack the top 10, the Eagles had several stellar performances. Haynes, a freshman from Whitney, carded a 78 during Tuesday’s final round and finished with 153, just nine strokes over par. Her round of 153 was her best two-day score by 20 strokes this season.
Also for CSC, Schuyler Wetzel shot 167, Emma Harris carded 176, Karson Langley had a season-best 181 and Mikayla Gallagher finished with 185.
